Introducing the Imbani Group

Just before the dawn of the new democratic dispensation in South Africa, Mr Briss Mathabathe founded the Imbani Group in 1993. This fledgling group focussed on development, trading and consultancy services and has since flourished to become a conglomerate that covers a wide spectrum of capital investment projects.

Today Imbani Holdings (Pty) Limited is the holding company of a group of subsidiaries spanning high-growth sectors in southern Africa and across the globe. Ever watchful for favourable investment opportunities, the Imbani Group holds equity in more than 30 companies representing major industry sectors driving local and regional economies.

An African success story

Imbani’s success is the result of astute investing in opportunities, both locally and internationally. The Group currently executes major projects throughout South Africa, Africa as well as in other regions of the world and continues to have an appetite for new investment opportunities.

The business philosophy that stands fundamental to the Imbani Group is hinged on getting the basics right:

  • Service excellence – the Group’s key differentiator in a fiercely competitive business environment;
  • Achieving clients’ objectives by ensuring the delivery of cost, time and quality improvements while striving for innovation and enhancement of current practices;
  • Exceeding stakeholders’ expectations through astute investing and service delivery;
  • Nurturing healthy relationships with governments, parastatals, development agencies, export credit bodies, contractors and financiers in all regions in which it operates.

Adhering to these principles has resulted in several business awards bestowed upon the Group.
